Nepalese Dashain Festival,

Ministry of Defence Woodbridge Ministry of Defence Woodbridge

  • About the event

Dashain is the most significant and widely celebrated festival in Nepal, symbolising the victory of good over evil and the importance of family, respect, and cultural heritage. For the Nepalese community living and serving in the UK, Dashain holds deep emotional value — a time to come together, honour traditions, and strengthen community ties.

This year’s Dashain event brings together serving British Army personnel of Nepalese origin, their families, and British colleagues and guests. It’s not only a celebration of culture, but also a bridge that connects our heritage with the values of service, unity, and friendship we share with our British counterparts.

The event will feature traditional food, music, cultural performances, and a raffle draw — making it both a joyful gathering and a meaningful cultural exchange. With over 150 attendees expected, including respected guests and community figures, it offers a genuine opportunity for sponsors to support diversity, inclusion, and local engagement.

    Why should you sponsor?

By supporting this year’s Dashain festival, sponsors will gain direct exposure to 150+ attendees, including British Army personnel, Nepalese families, community members, and invited guests.

This is a valuable opportunity to promote your business through:

    • On-stage brand mentions during the raffle draw
    • Logo placement on event posters
    • Recognition as a supporter of cultural unity and community wellbeing

Your involvement not only builds visibility — it shows genuine support for a respected and close-knit community.

    Bhupendra Rana

I’m a Junior Commander currently serving in the British Army with over 8 years of service, currently posted at 23 Parachute Engineer Regiment in Woodbridge, Suffolk. I previously served with 36 Engineer Regiment in Maidstone, Kent.

Over the years, I’ve successfully led and delivered more than 10 community and team events for serving personnel and their families — including squadron bonding activities, mountain biking adventures, and cultural programmes like Dashain Entertainment Night. One of my largest events brought together over 70 attendees, each organised with structure, clarity, and professionalism.

This Dashain, we will welcome 150+ attendees, including military families, Nepalese community members, and guests from across the UK. As part of this, I am organising a raffle draw competition— a key highlight of the evening.

By sponsoring a prize for raffle draw winners, your brand will gain:

    • Direct exposure to 150+ attendees from a close-knit, engaged community
    • On-stage brand mentions during the draw
    • Logo placement on event posters and promotions
    • An opportunity to build goodwill by supporting a cultural event rooted in unity and celebration

It’s a straightforward way to connect your business with a growing, loyal audience — while playing a role in making this event truly memorable.

If you’re keen to get involved or want to find out more, I’d be happy to connect.
